Limiting your EMR exposure - What works for me...

Everyone has their opinion on EMR... By now, you probably know very well that I have a strong opposition against it, but I am still very open to discussion. To every problem out there, including EMR exposure, there is a sure solution, and I would like to review a few affordable alternatives to cellphone radiation exposure here in this post. To me, paying a little bit of my hard-earned cash for protection against future cancer or disease is very well worth the investment.

Behold, the amazing Pong protection cases for Blackberry's, iPhones, and Samsung smart phones. The company that manufactures these cases, Pong, is really dedicated to your health and aims to decrease the SAR levels emitted by your cellphone. These cases work  by taking the EMR the phone produces and directing it away from your face. Although the cases look quite average, they are built specifically to keep the NFI (Near Field Intensity) radiation away from you and your brain. The following is a diagram showing the radiation levels with and without the Pong case in a lab experiment. As you can see, the level of EMR is decreased by over 75% while the case is on the phone. Overall, I think these cases are a cheap alternative to decrease your body's tissue radiation intake, and are well worth the cost. After all, paying $49.99 while it isn't too late is worth spending your senior years with cancer or other brain diseases. Finally, I suggest you take a visit to Pong's website(the link is

in SAR and the cooling of the NFI radiation.

placed at the top of the page) to check out what other products they have to offer. There, you can also check out how their products work and find out more about them and other prevention companies.

Terra Gia Products  Link: Terra Gia
Gia is a great company concerned with health living, and they have four branches: Terra Gia, Aqua Gia, Nutra Gia, and Bella Gia, but today, I am only focusing on the first. The branch Terra Gia has to do with a healthy Earth, focusing in on EMR prevention. They offer several products to reduce EMR exposure, such as the GIAlife Pendant, and the Cell Guard.

GIAlife Pendant
The GIAlife Pendant is a small pendant one wears around the neck or keeps in a pocket, which prevents unnecessary exposure to EMR. One of the major external stressors in our environment is Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs). The GIAlife Pendant employs the proprietary ERT™ technology to provide you with a bio energetic resource to deal with debilitating stress. The GIAlife Pendant is a great way to protect you from all types of EMFs,  and specifically from EMR.
The GIA Cell Guard sticker adhears

cellular phone.

Cell Guard
The Cell Guard is a small, stick-on protection device that you stick to your cellphone. One placed on your cellphone, it catches EMR in your NFI range, to protect your body tissue from absorbing most of the EMR emitted. This sticker can be placed on any type of cell phone, and is a great alternative if you do not want a full case on your smart or cellular phone.

Overall, my main point is that there are many ways to protect yourself from the harmful side effects of EMR. Even though cellphones need to emit EMR in order to work, there are many ways to protect yourself. Do you use any EMR protection products not listed above? What about the items that are listed above? Do they work for you? What's your opinion on them? Let me know by commenting below. More to come, follow me on Twitter (@em_radiation) for more frequent updates on EMR.

The hidden dangers of cellphone usage...

http://bit.ly/Ccckd It's true, alright. We're being sucked into a vortex of EMR, and in today's society, nobody can avoid it. It's almost like being trapped inside a maze for eternity, but not even knowing of it. This sea of radiation we are swimming in everyday is produced by electrical appliances, power lines, wiring in buildings, and a slew of other technologies that are part of modern life, and that we learn to accept.

Even so, society still doesn't realize what is happening, although the threat is right in front of our very eyes. Government regulators and the cell phone industry refuse to admit that these dangers, which include genetic damage, brain dysfunction, brain tumors, and other conditions such as sleep disorders and headaches, exist.

Today, there are more than two billion cellphone users being exposed every day to the dangers of electromagnetic radiation (EMR). Researchers say that if there is a safe level of EMR that the human body can tolerate, it is so low that we cannot even detect it. Overall, it's quite clear that we are missing the point. My opinion? We are ignoring the risks, when they are so oblivious it is hard to see how we do so.

So what's your opinion? Do you see our world from an EMR standpoint, and notice how we overlook the dangers of this form of radiation? Or do you still believe that cellphones are as safe as ever? Comment with your thoughts, more to come.

Are we forgetting just how harmful cellphones are?

http://bit.ly/xAHpHd  The cellphone industry is an expanding, huge industry in today's wide technology and gadget market, today we have over 100,000 cellphone towers spread across the USA, an explosive $40 billion dollar a year industry. Smartphone sales in 2011 reached 472 million across the globe, and are expected to rise to a gaping 982 million by 2015. It is the safety of these cell phone towers, as well as cellphones themselves which has become the subject of extensive scientific debate, beginning in the 1980s, a mere 30 years ago, when the cellphone industry was born.

But the question pondering in everyone's head: why do we forget about the risks of cellphone usage, let the media swoop in and remind us that cellphone radiation is a gigantic risk, and then let the issue slip from our lousy memories again? I query this very question since it resembles quite identically what exactly has been happening ever since the still-growing industry was established.

How did it all start? Major concern. When the first cellphones were launched, there was excitement, but among all of the buzz of a new revolution being born in front of our eyes, there was great skepticism. People knew that there was a "but" or an "if", because with every new technology, there is, as Neil Postman highlights in his "Five Things We Need to Know About Technological Change", a setback or disadvantage. This disadvantage, not surprisingly, turns out to be the damage EMR, the radiation cellphones emit, do to our brains.

Don't forget, this $40 billion dollar a year industry doesn't just make money off phones. No, no, and no. There are accessories, such as Pong's EMR protection cases, which reduce cellphone SAR levels by up to 95%. These "amazing, health-inspiring" products tend to swoop right in when the media is concerned about smart phones and their effects (such as the recent studies on cellphones and cancer, brain tumors, etc.).

Coincidence? I think not. At 2012's CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas, EMR protection products were were majorly headlined, as well as all other smart phone accessories and cases. So what does this mean?

Well, it can't just be luck that as soon as the media comes by, BOOM, there the protection products are, and OH, here we go off again worrying about cellphones and their "newly found risk". Just because we haven't heard about the level of radiation they emit in a couple of months doesn't mean that we haven't heard of this before. After all, 2 and a half weeks ago, just before CES, the above article was published, stating that:
"Individuals who use their cell phones regularly for more than 10 years have an increased risk of developing brain cancers."
-Dr. Hardell's studies
You get the point. What I'm trying to say? We can't just let this issue slip from our brains. It's very important to be educated, as well as never forget that there is an apparent risk in our society; it's always there, and everyone is affected, even though we are so used to it that we don't notice.

What do you think? Do you think that we have forgotten about the risks of cellphone usage, just to be recently awoken with an abrupt BANG from the media, wanting us to be focused on the issue once again (not suprisingly, just in time for CES). Radiation tags on Indian cellphones?

Cellphones Bad For Health? The Indian Gov't Thinks So.
A cellphone tower. We are so used
to the sight of this common
structure nowadays
that we do not even realize
the harmful effects the radiation
it is emitting has on us.

Image from inhabitat.com.
http://engt.co/vlvQuy The Indian government is trying to promote EMR awareness, because once their proposed law gets passed, all cellphones sold in India will be required to display how much electro-magnetic radiation they generate. Recently, radiation (specifically EMR) has been part of many studies, including one to do with if radiation from cellphones causes brain tumors and cancers.

To add to this proposed law, India has also wanted to lower the maximum SAR level on an Indian smartphone from the European standard, 2.0/SAR to the recent, 1.6/SAR limit set by North America. By lowering this SAR rating, India will be able to sell only smartphones that emit a considerable amount of electro-magnetic radiation. Clearly, India is projecting the message that they believe that cellphones cause illness and cancer quite strongly, as of right now, no other country has projected their message as straight forward as India's.

I believe that North America, as well as the rest of the world, needs to take action. We cannot just sit there waiting for something to happen, or think that nothing is wrong, since there is a clear problem presented here.

Modern smart phones are becoming powerful and compressed with features, but as Postman said, every technological advancement also has an opposite setback. For example, take the new 4G networks set to roll out by 2013/14. This great technology, which allows us to transfer data almost 10 times faster than the current standard, 3G, has the disadvantage of also emitting 0.5 times more radiation. "Even handsets that meet this criterion may have to declare their SAR level, and also carry a message asking people to keep their calls or short or use SMS instead".

Overall, I just think that we need to be careful. If we don't educate ourselves, the mystery of the future could dawn down on us: we live in a technology full society with lots of dangers. EMR is one of them. Be careful. Follow me on Twitter (@em_radiation) and tune in for my next post on the dangers of EMR and it's harmful presence in our modern society. Thanks for reading!
